My name is Helga Picknell-Velkeniers and I graduated as an art teacher in Brussels in 1995, before moving to England in the same year. I have been teaching art ever since.
Over the years I have taught a great variety of students: from primary and secondary education, through to prison rehabilitation programs and special needs education. In 2009 I set up
aARTvark, an artistic daycare service for adults with special needs. I also teach several mainstream art classes for adults and enjoy teaching a wide variety of techniques.
My work has been displayed in several exhibitions, and when I graduated I was one of six chosen people to take part in a three month long exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in
Brussels. I also have an upcoming exhibition in early August at the Jellyfish Gallery in St. Ives.
