About me
Barry Herniman is a full time artist from England and has been painting landscapes and seascapes for many years both in the studio and ‘en plein air’. His favourite medium is watercolour, its immediacy and transparency he believes is hard to beat and he never tires of watching the colours mix and mingle on the paper. Barry thinks there are few things more challenging and exciting than painting and sketching in front of my chosen subjects whether it be in the heart of the country, perched on a coastal cliff or in a busy city.
A tutor for over 20 years, Barry delights from watching students produce their own exciting works of art and he has travelled extensively both at home and abroad doing demonstrations, tutoring workshops and painting holidays. Barry regularly writes articles for the Artist magazine and has designed and produced his own lightweight ‘Cloverleaf Paintbox’ which is on sale worldwide.
