Everyone at Horsenden Primary School is expected to wear school uniform.
Uniform
• Black or grey trousers
• Black or grey skirt, pinafore dress or shorts (not PE type)
• White long or short sleeved shirt or white polo shirt with school motif
• Navy blue sweatshirts (with school motif only) Navy blue fleece (with school motif only) Navy blue cardigan (with school motif only)
Summer uniform
• Girls – blue and white checked dress
• Boys – black or grey shorts (not PE type) could be worn
• Navy summer cap with school motif
Footwear
• Dark trainers or shoes to ankle height
• White summer school shoes can be worn with summer uniform (for girls)
Leather boots or wellington boots may be worn to school, but indoor shoes should be provided into which the children can change.
Open toe, fashion shoes and shoes with high heels are not suitable for school, as they can be dangerous.
Basketball or climbing boots with ankle supports should not be worn to school.
Physical Education (PE) Kit
(required from Reception)
Children need to have separate PE kit and it is really important that they change footwear for PE, in the interests of hygiene. If your child wears trainers to school, please provide a different pair for PE.
• Navy blue shorts and yellow polo shirt with school motif.
• A blue tracksuit or leggings can be worn outside for games during cold weather.
• Plimsolls are needed for indoor activity. Trainers are recommended for outdoor use. Older pupils may also need suitable footwear when playing football.
If your child attends an after school sport club, please provide them with a kit to wear. Children must not wear their school PE kit for an after school sport club.
Swimming Kit
(required from Year 3)
• Boys are expected to wear navy swimming trunks and girls a navy swimming costume.
• Swimming hats are for sale and it is advisable, if your child has long hair, to have one.
All uniform should be clearly labelled with your child’s name, preferably with a permanent marker or name tag.
Jewellery
Information is given for Health and Safety reasons.
Fashion jewellery must not be worn to school. If your child has pierced ears they may wear very small studs. These cannot be worn during sporting activity and your child’s ears will be covered by a plaster.
