Uniform Policy

Morley pupils are proud of their uniform and do their best to look smart and represent the school’s high standards at all times. Our school colours and royal blue and gold. Our logo is an owl which represents wisdom, and our beautiful rural location.

The staff and Governors would like all children to abide by the school’s dress code.

Our uniform consists of:

• Royal blue sweatshirt or sweat cardigan
• White polo shirt
• Royal blue/white checked summer dress with royal blue sweat cardigan
• Grey (not black) trousers, skirts, shorts or pinafore dress
• Sensible black shoes/sandals (white or black sandals may be worn in Summer - please make sure that these are safe for running in)
• Black/white/grey plain socks or tights.
• Denim jeans, trainers, leggings, sportswear and similar play or leisure clothes should not be worn as school dress.
• For outdoor use we also supply royal blue fleece/waterproof fleece, royal blue hat and scarf, royal blue legionnaires style summer sun hat. EYFS pupils will need a coat in school as they spend much of their time outdoors. We have a supply of hi-visibility vests in school for taking younger pupils out of school during the school, day.

In the interest of Health and Safety and security, pupils should not wear jewellery in school. Children may wear a small pair of plain studs if they have pierced ears, but these will need to be removed, by the pupil, for PE and swimming. We suggest that children do not wear earrings on these days. Hair ribbons and bobbles should be plain blue. Children should not wear nail varnish or other make-up. We request that ears should only be pierced in the summer holidays.

Equipment for Physical Education

Our PE programme includes the teaching of outdoor games and skills, gymnastics, dance and swimming throughout the year. The children will require the following essential equipment:

• Royal blue shorts
• White t-shirt with school logo
• No football shirts or shorts are allowed in school
• Trainers and white socks
• Royal blue tracksuit. As we do not have a school hall, the majority of PE will take place outdoors throughout the year.Consequently we ask children to bring suitable clothing for cold weather. A plain tracksuit and trainers are desirable for outdoor use. Plimsolls are not suitable for outdoors.

Children in Years 3 to 5 attend swimming each week.

• Short swimming trunks/ towel/drawstring bag for boys
• One piece swimming costume/towel/drawstring bag for girls. Children will also require a towel, but do not require deodorant or any additional hair products.

Please label all items of uniform. We do our best to return items to owners, and we have a Lost Property box located in the Disabled Facilities, but it is sometimes difficult to match child to clothing.
