Ryno Swart is the leading figure in the romantic figurative art movement. After working in film storyboarding, Ryno travelled to Paris to learn his love of painting. Upon returning to Johannesburg, he spent twelve years painting at a ballet company, training his eye and hand in unison with the dancers training their bodies. In his paintings there is a sense of truth and respect that gives depth, dignity and beauty. As a teacher he shares the ideas and concepts that has formed his own art and philosophy over many years.
